OKLAHOMA VETERANS CENTER, CLAREMORE DIVISION PROJECTS

GH2 designed several projects at the existing Claremore Veterans Center facility that were administered by the State of Oklahoma and received matching funds under the VA State Home Grant Funding Program. GH2 assisted in the preparation of the successful funding application for the projects. A new 52 bed patient unit was carefully designed for the special requirements of an Alzheimer's / Dementia care facility. The two back-to-back nurse stations share support spaces, a secured access "staff only" area and direct views to each patient room door. Patient rooms include full toilet and shower rooms, special lighting and safety features, with a residential "home-like" environment. Natural light filters through all areas by way of special translucent skylights and clerestory windows. The project also included a new multi-purpose auditorium and a renovation of the existing physical therapy department.
