USPS NCED TRAINING FACILITY
Norman, Oklahoma
GH2 designed the new 140,000 SF training facility at the National Center for Employee Development in Norman, Oklahoma for the United States Postal Service. The design of the facility is based on a modular approach to the building structure, building systems, as well as the program spaces, to ensure a high level of flexibility in accommodating current and future programs.
The building program includes training laboratories, classrooms, and support spaces for various current and future training programs. Support spaces include instructor’s offices, conference and testing areas, shipping and receiving, and building support spaces.
The scope of the project includes all building systems. The project features raised access flooring in portions of the laboratory spaces, majority of the classrooms and instructors offices. Site improvements include design and construction of all site utility systems, with modifications to the existing on-site storm water retention/detention system in the area of the proposed expansion.
