HIGHLAND PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, BROKEN ARROW PUBLIC SCHOOLS

GH2 designed the new Highland Park Elementary School for the Broken Arrow Public School District on a 160 acre undeveloped site. We developed a master plan that includes a future new middle school and community access to them as well as a future municipal multi-use activity center. The elementary school encompasses 96,000 sf of space for pre-K through 5th grade students.

The facility includes 30 pod-style classrooms; eight special-use classrooms including art, music, and science; a full size gymnasium with stage and spectator seating; cafeteria; kitchen; main offices; clinic; media center; multiple playgrounds; a bus oval; and separate parent pick-up and drop-off lanes. Direct access to the exterior from each pod allows for multiple exterior play areas as well as covered or open outdoor classrooms spaces. The District's intent for this facility is to develop an alternate curriculum style, utilizing large group teaching methods within the pod-style layouts.
